Dioni is an area on the boundaries of the former community of Pikermi, Attica, and the current Municipality of Rafina–Pikermi. It is one of the up-and-coming areas of Mesogeia, with significant construction activity. It is a purely residential area, consisting mainly of detached houses and maisonettes. Its population is estimated at about 400 families. Since 2007 the area has begun to be supplied with water by EYDAP. It borders Pikermi, Drafi and Kallitechnoupoli. Very close to the settlement are the modern sports facilities of Pikermi. The distance from the settlement to the center of Pikermi is about 3 minutes by car, and 10 minutes to Pallini, where the suburban railway station is located, with services to Athens or to Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. The entrance to Attiki Odos is 5 km away, next to which is one of the largest shopping centers in Attica, McArthurGlen, which attracts and serves people from many areas of the Athens metropolitan basin. Dioni is in a key location and 10 km from the second largest port of Attica, Rafina, from where daily routes depart for the Cyclades islands. Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” is also about 15 minutes from the area.
