Kato Patisia has as its main road Acharnon Street instead of Patision. They are defined to the north-northeast by Ano Patisia, to the east by Kypseli, to the south by Agios Nikolaos, to the southwest by Thymarakia and Sepolia, to the west by the river Kifissos and the location Treis Gefyres, where the Athens-Lamia National Highway passes over from Kifissos. Unique features: The central church of Agios Demetrios Oplon got its nickname because only here is Agios Demetrios depicted armed. That is why its narrow area was called Opla or Sta Opla. According to another version, during the War of 1821 a group of fighters who had camped in the temple for the night, were suddenly awakened by a voice: "To arms!". They got up and barely managed to fend off a Turkish attack. Later, when they were questioned among themselves, it was found that they were all asleep at the time the voice had been heard.
