Portocolom has preserved much of its original flair and charm. Here everything is a bit calmer and more idyllic, and time seems to have almost stood still. It is home to the largest natural harbor in Mallorca, where colorful boathouses, the lighthouse, and boats combine to create the picturesque appearance of the place. Portocolom is a traditional holiday resort in Mallorca and therefore offers a wide range of hotels, bars, and restaurants. The old town located by the harbor invites you to take a leisurely stroll through its quaint streets, where you can also find some very good restaurants. The lively village of Santanyí (about 18 km south) with its colorful weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays also offers cozy restaurants, bars, and boutiques; you can reach Santanyí in about 20 minutes by car. The beaches of Porto Colom are not directly in the town center, but they are easily accessible from there. Among the most popular beaches are Cala Marcal and on the Sa Punta peninsula the dreamy S'Arenal beach. For those who prefer it even quieter and more secluded, the mini bay S’Algar on the peninsula should be visited. This somewhat hidden bay is surrounded by rocky coasts and is a true oasis of tranquility, which is hard to find elsewhere. The exclusive golf club "Vall d’Or" is reachable by car in about 10 minutes.
