For a more than perfect Christmas decor, follow our bespoke guide !

A Christmas party requires some preliminary preparations to refine all the details that will make this day a real success. Discover our guide of tips and advice for choosing your lighting, decorating your tables and choosing the most festive packaging for your presents.

Do you think it's still early to start thinking about Christmas? Think again! At this time of the year, days move at an incredible speed. The more we do in advance, the greater our chances of making the holiday a success, and creating an unforgettable occasion for all members of the family. With interior decoration, planning a menu, getting the tree ready, and laying the table, there is plenty of work to be done! So here are our tips that will help you to create the perfect fairytale Christmas that will make the occasion more memorable than ever.

Lights, lights and more lights ...

A Christmas without dazzling lights is not really Christmas! At this dark and gloomy time of year, it is essential for your home to be alight with warmth and cheer so optimal lighting inside and out is a must. Start with the strings of fairy lights in the garden with perhaps a few Christmas figurines carefully installed on the lawn or perched on the balcony: the goal is to create a festive atmosphere in the middle of winter greyness. Hang a beautiful Christmas wreath with holly and ivy on the front door! Place garlands entwined around the fireplace! Choose scented candles and brass cutlery! Your exterior decoration must be a call to the party and the warmth and cheer that lies within!

A beautiful Christmas tree

A bright and warm atmosphere yes, but not an uncomfortable cacophony of clashing colours! By choosing your Christmas decoration colours, you only need one key-word: consistency. All colours are welcome both on the table, on the walls and around the tree. Nevertheless, your decor will gain in elegance and refinement if you proceed in small steps. Go for a golden star echoing a dish that is just as scintillating. Choosing a table runner that has a gold border rather than completely golden. The ambience will be cosy without overwhelming.

The fir tree is the central element of your Christmas decorations and it can be tempting to adorn it with strings of bright lights, tinsel and coloured baubles. Be aware though that the current trend is to avoid clutter! Be refined by selecting your decorative pieces. Whether natural or artificial, your tree should be highlighted with a white carpet of snow at its base and plenty of well-wrapped presents: enough to announce a merry Christmas!

Carefully chosen presents

For your gifts to be a hit with recipients, be precise and creative. Do not wait until the day before to pick your presents but ask your loved ones what they would like well in advance. This will save you the endless queues of the holiday season! Try and do some of your Christmas shopping online: you will find inspiring ideas to please the fussiest people! This year, why not try and tie your presents with ribbons rather than sticky tape? This is better for the planet and allows you to choose colours that complement your colour theme.

A multicoloured style, but tastefully done

Don't be tempted to get too carried away with decorations! For resplendent Christmas decorations, the rule of 3 colours is apter than ever. The best way to avoid garishness is to opt for the association of iconic Christmas colours: green, red and gold. Those who prefer a classic style should go for white and add a few touches of gold: a cosy atmosphere immersed in the snow will transport you to a festive and elegant universe. If you are feeling creative and original, centre your decor around a surprising colour, such as fuchsia pink, purple, yellow. Make striking and discreet reminders at the same time by multiplying the objects. To avoid falling into a cacophony, vary the shapes and dimensions by limiting yourself to a few basic colours. Whatever your aesthetic inclinations, keep in mind that you must create a cosy atmosphere that makes you want to gather by the fire!

A festive table that will the envy of all your friends

For Christmas Eve, it's time to get out your best dishes! Small dainty dishes, along with the big, your finest and elegant silverware, a table runner with a golden border and candles of the same colour to create a harmonious reminder! Choose a neutral, uncluttered tablecloth, ideally of snowy white linen. Don't confine yourself to the choice of candles and a few decorative items, such as snowdrops, pine cones, holly boughs or hellebores. A nice bouquet as a centrepiece will bring a touch of flair to your Christmas table.
