The focus of Engel & Völkers Commercial lies in consultancy and brokerage services relating to all kinds of commercial real estate. Some 750 experts are currently operating in more than 80 commercial offices worldwide in segments dedicated to residential and commercial properties, investment, office, industry and retail spaces, as well as hotel investments. The network Company Profile encompasses Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain and Malta, and as far as Chile, Dubai and South Africa.
In addition to the brokerage of high-end yachts, the services offered by the Yachting division also include chartering, the management of new builds and refits, and professional consultancy in yacht management. Business activities focus on the brokerage of yachts upwards of 25 metres in length, as well as models with high-end facilities.
Engel & Völkers Aviation is specialised in the brokerage of aircraft sales and acquisitions, and personally tailored charter flights around the world. The portfolio ranges from small propeller aircraft through to large super jets for transatlantic flights. The business division’s services also include expert legal and fiscal consultancy, aircraft management, financing tools, and insurance consultancy.
Since 2007 the service portfolio offered by Engel & Völkers has also included the “Private Office”. This business segment offers highly discrete and individual consultancy to an extremely affluent clientele looking to buy or sell a property at the very top end of the global property market. In 2012, Engel & Völkers founded the business segment “Castles & Manor Houses”. It provides a specialised service to owners and buyers on issues relating to the valuation and international brokerage of prime historic real estate. In 2014, this segment was complemented by the introduction of the “Agriculture & Forestry” segment. It deals with the brokerage of exclusive vineyards, hunting estates, forest estates, farmland and pastureland.
Engel & Völkers is constantly developing digital tools and IT products to maximize service efficiency. The company sets new standards in the implementation of digital solutions for real estate market. Personal real estate counseling from experienced market experts will continue to be a central part of Engel & Völkers' mediation activities using digital technologies.
In 2013, Engel & Völkers introduced the Market Center (MC) concept in addition to its already successfully established Licence Partner system. With the MC concept the company is pursuing a strategy aimed at faster growth in important international property markets and a greater gain of market share. The region for a Market Center covers a greater geographical area and its transaction volume is equivalent to that of between ten and 20 traditional Engel & Völkers shops. The first Market Center opened in Barcelona. Engel & Völkers now has more than ten MCs operating in cities around the globe.
Christian Völkers’ attention was drawn by a relative to a school project in Togo, Africa. His first private donation triggered further considerations with regard to corporate social responsibility at Engel & Völkers and laid the foundation stone for bringing the Engel & Völkers Charity e.V. to life in 2008.
