Moraira, a charming and peaceful seaside town in Northern Costa Blanca is a unique place for holiday makers or those wishing for a great lifestyle in Spain. This lovely spot which was a tiny fishing village has turned into a beautiful town with a wide range of things to do and places to visit. The most exclusive villas and properties for sale in the area are available in Moraira.
Whether you are an active, adventurous and sporty person or if you prefer cultural and relaxing activities, in Moraira you can enjoy an exciting variety of experiences that suit your different needs and tastes.
Are you looking for a spot to recharge your batteries with the strong energy of the Spanish climate? Sun, impressive coves and beaches mixed with crystalline mediterranean water will fascinate and captivate you.
You must spend a day at “Playa del Portet”. It is like a Caribbean bay, a shell-shaped beach with clear blue water and white sand, a hidden paradise surrounded by pine tree hills and a great place where you can enjoy a peaceful swim, explore the underwater world or do some kayaking.
Don’t miss Moraira’s other sandy beaches such as L’Ampolla or Plagetes, nor the tiny rocky coves with clear blue water like L’Andragó or Punta Estrella.
Water sports are a featured attraction in the area. You will find several places where you will be able to enjoy them as well as hire equipment and get lessons with a qualified instructor.
However, if you are in a “relaxing mood”, Moraira’s marina is probably the best place to go. It is a stylish, colourful and cool area with nice restaurants and an excellent variety of local shops.
When you are in the Moraira area, you will have the opportunity to discover the taste of Spanish gastronomy in a wide choice of restaurants with their typical dishes. All restaurants will offer exquisite recipes of rice (paella), fish and seafood.
Our first choice is "L´Eriçó Beach Bar" in Cala Advocat. A must if you want to have a real paella while enjoying some stunning views. In the evening it offers a great variety of musical events which you can enjoy while you try some of their delicious cocktails. It only opens in summer.
If you fancy excellent food, you must try “Sand” Restaurant in La Sort Boutique Hotel: Superb location, service and quality.
If you like to taste local food as well as enjoy live music, cocktails and a magic atmosphere, don´t miss “Cala Baladrar Beach Bar” in Benissa.
A very nice and typical option in Moraira is spending a few hours visiting the traditional open market every Friday morning, where you can buy local products such as fruit and vegetables, amongst many other things.
Together with the weekly itinerant market, Moraira keeps most customs and traditions of this part of Spain alive .In Northern Costa Blanca, Moraira is the best place to “live” local festivals and “fiestas”. The most famous and best known is The Moors and Christians in June. People line the streets to watch the marching parades, listen to the live bands, see the stunning and colorful costumes, enjoy the fireworks and have a great time.
