Tips to improve your bathroom without renovating it
1. Get rid of all the old furniture in the bathroom
Due to the humidity caused by showering every day, bathroom furniture can eventually get damaged. For example, if your bath is older than 10 years, it is best to throw it away. Once the room is empty, you will see everything in a better perspective
2. Paint the tiles
Go to a DIY store and buy paint for bathroom tiles. This is also known as glazed ceramic tile paint. Make sure the surface is thoroughly cleaned before you start applying the desired colour. For best results, apply at least 2 layers of paint in order to completely cover the patterns on the tiles.
3. Install vinyl flooring
Vinyl floors are cheap and also ideal for bathrooms because of their high level of adhesion. Always choose a contrasting colour to the walls. The installation process is very simple.
4. Remove the old fixtures
If the fixtures are in good condition, you may not have to get rid of them. However, it is always advisable to update the old fixtures by installing a new sink, toilet, and bidet.
5. Place the new pieces of furniture in the bathroom
These days, you can buy bathroom furniture from almost any shop in the high street. But if are feeling creative, you can always build them yourself in order to add a unique and personalised touch to the room. Whichever option you go for, always choose neutral colours as these are more suitable for bathrooms.
