5 tricks to make your CV more noticeable

The CV is an absolutely fundamental tool when it comes to getting a good job. However, when sending it to different companies for either job offers or other reasons, you may notice that there is a huge competition for the job you are applying for. When faced with such a problem, how can you make your CV stand out from others? Here we are going to offer 5 simple tricks that can be very useful.

1. Customise the CV

Avoid sending a generic CV for all the jobs you find. The best thing to do is to search on the Internet as well as the company's website about who is responsible for the recruitment process or, failing that, get in touch with the human resources department and send your CV directly to them. This will show that you are very interested in joining the company.

2. Quality must prevail

If a recruiter finds a CV with more than one page, he or she will probably not bother reading all of it. In general, companies look for candidates with the ability to summarise all their abilities on one page. Therefore, give priority to the most important information and invite the reader to ask for a personal interview in which you can reveal your experience, training, etc.

3. Do not beat around the bush

For example, if you are applying for a real estate agent position, it is not going to be of great interest to the employer to state that you have worked as a mechanic in your family's workshop. Removing these unimportant data can help you be more concise and write a better and more eye-catching CV.

4. Pay attention to the cover letter

A good CV should always be accompanied by a proper cover letter. However, do not use this to summarise the content of the main document. Use it to present yourself in a pleasant and professional way and invite the employer to get to know you better through an interview.

5. Always show examples of your work

If you are, for example, interested in graphic design, you can not include your previous work in your CV. However, at the end of the page, you can include some links to a cloud storage platform where you have completed such tasks. In this way, it will be very easy for the recruiter to see the examples of your work.

These 5 simple tricks will not only help you write a more complete and sophisticated CV but you will also be able to capture the attention of the employer and stand out from the competition. Follow them to the letter and you will soon get the job you want.
