Good team building is an unbeatable step to succeed in any sector. Engel & Völkers has always attached great importance to the meetings of the professionals that make the success of our business model possible. One of its many forums is the annual meeting of regional directors, who are responsible for the different divisions of our real estate branches in the Iberian Peninsula. The event took place in Barcelona between the 4th and 5th of October, during which different activities were developed and were attended by the management teams of the Market Centers of Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Lisbon.
The first day of the meeting was held in such an exclusive venue, the Ohla Eixample, a five-star boutique hotel located in the central Eixample district. In fact, the hotel is just a few minutes walk from some of the most interesting sites in Barcelona, such as Casa Milà and Paseo de Gracia, just to name a few. Undoubtedly, such architectural framework fitted perfectly with the theme of the meeting that was organised in one of the modern meeting rooms of Ohla Eixample. The discussions dealt with the current situation of Engel & Völkers and the real estate sector, with special attention to the Iberian market.
During the meeting, the attendees were able to present the most interesting figures of their respective Market Centres, as well as their ideas, projects, success stories and the most notable trends of the real estate market. Among the speakers were Juan Galo Macià (CEO of Engel & Völkers in Spain, Portugal and Andorra), Oriol Canal (Managing Director Engel & Völkers in Barcelona), Miguel Ángel Cantos (Managing Director Engel & Völkers Valencia) and Paloma Pérez (Managing Director Engel & Völkers Madrid). Also present were Costanza Maya (Head of Expansion & Support) and other local managers from the different divisions of the business (new builds, sales, rentals ...).
If the first day was devoted to the interaction between the directors of Engel & Völkers, the second had a markedly playful nature (which did not prevent them from continuing to address issues of special interest to all). Thus, the group of directors participating in the meeting made a guided tour of the Camp Nou (Tour VIP Experience), a stadium that, apart from football, contains many surprising secrets. Naturally, such an exciting tour required the team to regain their strength so the group enjoyed one of the authentic menus offered by Blue Spot. This sophisticated restaurant is also located in the attic of the Ocean Building, in the port of Barcelona.
The conclusions of the meeting were unanimously positive, since those responsible for the Engel & Völkers Market Centres in the Iberian Peninsula were able to learn in depth the situation of their regional counterparts and extract valuable readings for their respective divisions. In short, it proved to be a fruitful experience through team building efforts.
