Preparing for a job interview is always a task that requires patience and great care. However, not all cases are the same. As you can imagine, attending an interview in person is somewhat different to a video conference interview. Therefore, if you have been called to work in another city and you have been offered the chance of being interviewed through digital channels, pay attention to the following tips that we are going to give you for the most perfect interview.
1. Pay attention to your surroundings
Take care in choosing the place for the interview. Make sure you thoroughly clean the room and leave it completely tidy afterwards. Also, create a neutral space by getting rid of posters of football teams, political parties, etc. After all, you don't know what the interviewer on the other side of the computer screen thinks or the kind of impression that these elements can create.
2. Do not let anyone disturb you
Notify your roommates or family members about the time you are going to have the interview so that no one will bother you during the session. Imagine what would happen if you were in the middle of talking to the interviewer and suddenly your mother opens the door and tells you that dinner is ready? Clearly nothing positive. For your part, also make sure you switch off your mobile phone in order to avoid interruptions.

3. Test the camera and microphone
It is important to test both the camcorder and the microphone an hour or two before the interview begins to ensure they work perfectly. In fact, this will give you enough time so that in case they don't function correctly, you can repair them or go to a nearby PC shop to get them fixed. Obviously, these devices may still let you down in the worst possible time, but checking them beforehand will minimise the chances of troubleshooting.
4. Take care of your appearance
You can attend the interview in your own home and even in your bedroom. However, this does not mean that you can wear whatever you like. In fact, you should ideally prepare your outfit in the same way you would if you were attending the interview at the company headquarters or in any other professional setting. At the very least consider wearing a shirt and a smart jacket.
Following these four simple tips we have given you will create the right setting and bring out your personal and professional qualities through videoconferencing. No doubt, you will be one step closer to getting the job you want.
