In a study of the best areas of Barcelona to buy a house in, the Salvador Espriu Gardens in the highest part of Paseo de Gracia came on top. Its name comes from the author and poet, Salvador Espriu, who lived in Casa Fuster, opposite the gardens.
As an anecdote, we should remember that the inauguration of these gardens took place with the llamada Fountain of the Aurora, a vast number of sculptures placed on a pond.
Among these figures was the Minerva goddess, a sculpture with two chariots drawn by two horses. However, the work was not to the taste of the locals and was dismantled and stored in a warehouse in Barcelona. Years later some pieces were rescued and were placed in different parts of the city.
An ideal area to buy or rent an apartment in
The areas in Espriu Salvador Gardens and Vila de Grácia are central locations in Barcelona. Among the transport links, the metro stations of Verdaguer, Lesseps, Callcarca and Joanic stand out the most. Also, there are good bus and rail links to and fro these areas.
