The Jardins Festival de Pedralbes (Garden Concert) holds its fourth edition from 11th June this year to July 12th and, as usual since its inception, it will be an opportunity to enjoy some of the most eclectic artists on the national and international scene. In fact, the concert will start with the popular group The Cranberries and end with the voice of Swedish folk singer-songwriter José González.
During the month-long Festival Jardins de Pedralbes (a concert that takes place outdoors in summer) more than twenty artists from varied musical genres will appear on stage at the Palau Reial. Tickets, which can be purchased online and at the actual sales offices, will be available until April 11th and are priced between 16 and 160 euros.
The Cranberries will perform their classics such as, 'Dreams', 'Ode to my family' and, not forgetting 'Zombie' on stage at the Palau Reial. The rock group Celtic Legends will also offer a bit of Celtic flavour with the appearance of Carlos Nunez. This is currently one of the most prestigious Irish music bands. In addition, Diego Florez and Milky Chance will have an opportunity to delight audiences with their greatest hits.
Miguel Bosé will be going on his 'Love Tour' from 22nd June, which will be the other highlight of Festival Jardins de Pedralbes. The poster contest, although some bands and singers are yet to be confirmed, will be completed by artists such as Charles Aznavour, The Lumineers, James Morrison, Paolo Conte and Ara Malikian, not forgetting, of course, Tom Jones, who will make his appearance on June 29th presenting his new album 'Long lost suitcase'.
As if that were not enough, for the first time in the history of Festival Jardins de Pedralbes, two premier movies will also be shown. They will be aired on 19th and 20th June. These dates are chosen for the screening of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and 'The artist', respectively. Music soundtracks will be performed live by the prestigious Vallès Symphony Orchestra under the guidance of Ernst van Tiel.
To conclude, the Jardins de Pedralbes Festival continues its firm promise to flood Barcelona with alternative rock music during the months of June and July. This is an event which despite its humble origins, has carved a niche in the taste of the locals and attracts a very diverse and heterogeneous audience.
