Exploring Benidorm’s Parks and Gardens

Benidorm is a premier resort town and a summer destination on the Mediterranean Coast of Spain. It has maintained popularity locally and internationally since the mid-1900s and has been home to a culturally diverse and vibrant community. This coastal town boasts sunny skies, beautiful beaches, robust nightlife, world-class restaurants, and picturesque modern skyscrapers against the backdrop of a vivid blue sea. Benidorm residents also enjoy access to a variety of beautiful parks and gardens found throughout the town.

Plaça Triangular (Triangular Square)

Located in the middle of Plaza de la Hispanidad, this square is open to the public at all times. It features lush gardens, colorful blooms, shady trees, and sitting areas. It is a cheerful and refreshing area with cafes, restaurants, and shopping boutiques. Food festivals and bazaars are held regularly in this popular spot where people come to relax and enjoy a sunny afternoon.

Plaça de la Senyoria (Square of the Lordship)
This historical square next to the beach is part of the Old Town of Benidorm. It is bordered by palm trees, ornamental shrubs, and an anniversary monument dedicated to those who have lost their lives at sea. Cafes, restaurants, and food kiosks surround the square which opens to a picturesque view of Playa Mal Pas, the harbor lighthouse, and Playa de Poniente.

Parc d'Elx (Elche Park)
Located on the east end of the Playa de Poniente on Calle Colón, this urban park boasts a promenade of palms and other trees native to the area, a playground for children, benches, and fountains. The park is also home to hundreds of friendly white doves that love bird food, nuts, or bread from the parkgoers. In the evening, the fountain beams with colorful lights while indie artists play lovely music, complementing the cool sea breeze.

Parc de L'Aigüera (Aigüera Park)
Located at Calle Primavera, the park is open every day from 8 AM to 10 PM. Designed by world-renowned Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, the park’s distinct feature is its neoclassical landscapes, gardens, and buildings. The park is a stunning green oasis of trees and flowers. It also includes two amphitheaters which are popular venues for concerts and other events.
