Situated on a green hill with a crystalline lake, stands Puigcerdà, capital and commercial center of Cerdanya, in northeastern Spain. Since its founding in the late eleventh century, this villa has been an important historical and cultural center of the Pyrenees and is in a prime location minutes from the French border, a few kilometers from Andorra and less than two hours from Barcelona.
Attracted by the beauty of its geography, people from Barcelona first came to the village in the late nineteenth century to build "villas", spacious houses that became second homes of the Catalan bourgeois families. Since that time, Puigcerdà has attracted businessmen, politicians and figures of Spanish cultural world as a place of rest because this town has a wide range of high quality vacation properties.
Puigcerdà combines the calm and beauty that offers Cerdanya valley with the bustle of its wide range of activities, being a major tourist center, livened up by residents and tourists that throughout the year enjoy a wide range of sports activities such as golf, hiking and bike riding in summer and skiing and ice hockey in the winter.
