Enjoy the most magical Christmas in Madrid

There is no denying that Christmas is the most magical time of the year. The streets become full of people of all ages, who take a walk with their little ones and look forward to the coming days. To honour this tradition in Madrid, it is customary to hang special lighting in the main streets that are the most popular and crowded at this time of the year.

Since the end of November, many lighting decorations have been displayed on numerous streets in the capital. Thanks to the low consumption LED technology, these types of lights can be left ON for longer without increasing electricity costs. In addition to the traditional Christmas lights and garlands, the streets of Madrid will have new features this year. Just like the sky that's full of stars, you can enjoy the beautiful lights in Alcalá Street, which is situated between Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta de Alcalá as well as in Serrano Street, which lives up to its reputation as a fashionable street with lots of bright lights that stir emotions. The Christmas light displays vary according to the day as they reach culmination on December 31st1, when the lights will be kept ON from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Naturally, Christmas is not just enjoyed in the streets. During this festive period, it is time to take advantage of the sales and visit the large shopping malls that put a huge range of products at the disposal of their customers. There are a few shopping centres in Madrid, which during the Christmas period tend to display their decoration and lighting to get into the magical Christmas spirit.

When it comes to comparing the size of the malls, we must highlight La Gavia Shopping Centre, as it is the largest in Madrid and is equipped with a large number of shops, leisure facilities, sports grounds and restaurants. The Xanadú centre, located in Arroyomolinos, has become highly popular. This mall is mainly known for its huge ski slope, SnowZone, which comes complete with a wide range of services. To enjoy watching movies "in a big way", the Islazul de Carabanchel shopping centre offers the largest cinema screen in Europe, enriching its offer with more than 100 shops and one of the best bowling alleys in the country.

Adding magic to these festive celebrations and making children even happier are the main goal of amusement parks like Warner. Up to January 7th, Warner Park will present its particular tribute to Christmas with multiple shows, thousands of lights, animations and very special characters that will add a new dimension to the usual fun that can be had in these attractions.

For the Christmas occasion, Warner Park has even offered a family tunnel with a very festive feel to it, where children can enjoy an exciting adventure. There is certainly nothing more exciting than to look for the secret of Christmas through a series of characters who live in this animated forest.
