Its most famous first wine, Ses Nines, is an island favourite, with an elegant and rich bouquet, that is produced with love from the native grape Manto Negro. The wineries José Luis Ferrer and Biniagual are also located in Binissalem. Established 85 years ago, Bodega José Luis Ferrer is a renowned bodega which has perfected its winemaking techniques over the past four generations. The winery itself has four main sections that comprise concrete tanks and barrels from 1931, a wine cellar and a more modern winery called Veritas. Offering wine-tasting and tours, the winery well serves the growing thirst for wine tourism.
Bodega Binigual is tucked away in its eponymous hamlet just outside Binissalem. Stunningly set on a traditional farm on a Mallorquin estate, this historic winery is well known for characterful wines of the highest standards that are picked and pressed on the 34 hectares of land. Famous for being sustainable, this winery harvests
native vine varieties like the Prensal Blanc, a white indigenous grape, and Manto Negro, the red. These are then blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay to produce a range of fine wines.
