On a daily basis markets are taking place in the several communities of the region. Depending on the market size they offer a wide range of different products.
Besides arts and crafts, jewelleries and leather goods they always offer fresh fruits and vegetables as well as a big choice of Mediterranean goodies like cheeses and cold cuts/sausages.
Generally the markets take place in the morning. But there are also markets like the market in Colònia de Sant Jordi (5-8 pm) which start in the evening.

Santanyí
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning the weekly market around the Placa Major takes place. The stalls of the fruit and vegetables sellers are resided straight in front of the church in the middle of the pretty village; however the market action goes further. In many alleys and hidden corners visitors can discover more booths. Various cafés also invite to a relaxing coffee, breakfast or brunch to watch the colored going ons of the market. The market offers a great atmosphere and is popular with a lot of residents as well as numerous tourists. Therefore an early arrival is recommended.
For culinary gourmets the markets provide a great selection. Apart from fruit, vegetables, clothes, shoes, plants, house wares and objects of arts you can discover a huge variety of local goodies like cheese, sausages, olives, filled pies and liquids or vine.
Delicious and typical for the region in the southeast is the coarse salt from the near salines that is tended on the market. It is called “Fleur de Sal“ and is still extracted from the traditional way out of the sea salt from the Cap de Ses Salines.
Manacor
The weekly market in Manacor takes place on the Placa Ramon LLull every Monday morning. It is very popular for its olive wood products and the famous pearl factory „Majorica“. On the market you have the possibility to purchase the pearls at first-hand. Apart from the market you can find a wide choice of fresh fruits and vegetables on the Placa Constitucio every morning.
Felantix
The weekly market in Felantix takes place every Sunday from 9am to 1pm. On market days a variety of booths are set in alleys and on the market place up around the church Sant Miquel.
The range of articles varies from leather goods and clay pots to lively animals like chickens, rabbits, pheasants and geese. Furthermore they sell leather bags as well as wallets, sun glasses and belts.
Compared to many other markets on the island the market in Felantix is not expounded to the mass tourism, but still very traditional and at the same moment very charming. Here the large number of visitors is spread awfully well so that the drifting on the market has a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The groceries in Felantix are sold in a separate market hall and additionally it's also open on normal days (except on Mondays) thus you can find all delicacies at the same place.
