The end of March all residents participate in the Holy Week Semana Santa. The streets of Sotogrande and San Roque are filled with ascent of orange blossom, incense and jasmine. Another interesting and traditional festival is the Romería de San Roque in April. There is a pilgrimage with many chariots, horsemen and horse-drawn carriages through the town. On the 21th of May is the anniversary of San Roque.
Virgen del Carmen, a special celebration of fishing, also takes place in San Roque and other coastal villages. With a big celebration at night, band performances and parades on the day, celebrate the honor to Virgen del Carmen.
A very famous and big celebration is the San Juan night in June, there is a big fire on the beach, where figures are burned. Everyone gathers on the beach, where there is a variety of food, drinks, and music. In August is the Feria from San Roque. In honor of the patron saint Maria la Coronada the Festival begins with the coronation of the queen. There is a large parade, children's events, parties, bullfights, etc. Ending on sunday, known as Domingo Rociero and including on the Monday with the Toro del Aguadiente.
