1. Carry out Repairs 

When a buyer views a home that he wants to buy, he automatically looks for any defects that can cause problems and cost him money. These defects can be broken plugs, lights that do not switch on, keys that do not close doors, etc. Although the buyer is still interested in the property, these are factors that will make you receive a lower offer. On many occasions, fixing these defects will be cheap and make the negotiating much easier. 

2. Tidy up and Clean 

Nobody likes to move into a dirty house. In fact, even if the property itself is in good condition, this will put off many potential buyers. Therefore, it is important to do a thorough cleaning before every viewing. Moving out is not an excuse for not tidying up. 

3. De-personalise 

It does not matter whether you are still living in your house or not. If you have decided to sell it, it is time to de-personalise it. How? By removing all those personal items. We are talking about your personal photos and those of your loved ones, your pictures, your travel memories, the drawings that your children have put on the fridge, etc.

4. Furnish and Decorate   

No need to buy new furniture, but it never hurts to make a small investment to renovate some pieces that are in poor condition. By doing this, you will show that the old furniture is still usable. What's more, if you tastefully decorate your home, you are more likely to find the right buyer.  
 
5. Take Good Photos
