Meeting of Portuguese Engel & Völkers licence partners 2017

Reliable market data, digital transformation and marketing budget

Together with his team, Juan-Galo Macià, CEO of Engel & Völkers in Spain, Portugal and Andorra, extended an invitation to all Portuguese licence partners to a joint meeting on the Algarve. The annual licence partner event took place on 16 November, with 35 licence partners and sales directors in attendance. The venue for the event was the “Pine Cliffs Hotel” in Albufeira. 

Juan-Galo Macià began by welcoming all attendees. He opened the event with a look back over the past 12 months. Engel & Völkers in Portugal has seen a growth in net commission revenues of 39 percent over the previous year, rising from 1.8 million to around 2.6 million euros.

Constanza Maya, Head of Expansion & Support, welcomed new licence partners to the Engel & Völkers network and introduced new regional managers for Portugal.

Reliable market data is very important in day-to-day business. For that reason, Pablo Molinero, Operations Manager, presented a database for statistical data on transaction prices and rental contracts in Portugal, together with guest speaker José Almeida from Confidencial Imobiliário.

Digital transformation at Engel & Völkers was another important topic on the agenda. Ester Fernández, Executive Assistant to Member of the Board Christian Evers, travelled from company headquarters in Hamburg to outline innovations to the digital Engel & Völkers platform. In particular here, she went into detail about Go!next and Matterport. In addition, she presented the Exposé App and the Owner App, as well as giving attendees a look at the newly designed Engel & Völkers landing page.

Maria Ángeles Gómez, Marketing Manager, and Marta Rifà, Digital Marketing Manager, gave an overview of this year’s offline marketing and press activities as well as activities and improvements in the field of online marketing at Engel & Völkers in Portugal. They then reported about plans for 2018 and discussed the joint marketing budget required for these plans with the licence partners. These funds are to be used for offline and online activities in order to increase brand awareness and to improve the brand positioning of Engel & Völkers in Portugal.

Luis Miguel Raposo, Regional Manager, and Margarita Oltra, Expansion Manager, then conducted a question and answer round with all those present. Subjects discussed here included recruitment and onboarding, marketing and farming. They posed questions like: What should the experience of a new real estate agent’s first day at work be like? How much budget should be assigned for marketing and what is the secret to good farming?

The day came to an enjoyable end with an evening meal together in the hotel restaurant.
