The Mediterranean Corridor will connect Murcia and Almería

Based on six different planning projects, the Mediterranean Corridor will start becoming a reality in 2018 when the draft connection between Murcia and Almería completes. But this project does not end here, since the Ministry of Public Works plans to start the expropriation process once the project is drafted, which will significantly shorten its starting time. In addition, the expropriation of the land and the tender of the works will occur simultaneously in the project's six stages. Undoubtedly, this new connection will be a great business and investment opportunity for all kinds of franchises and even for the real estate sector.

As per the recent announcement from Íñigo de la Serna, the Minister of Public Works for the current government, the completion of Mediterranean Corridor project is an absolute priority. In this way, the project of vertebration in the Spanish Mediterranean area, as claimed by all economic and political sectors, is back on track. At Engel & Völkers, we are fully confident that this new infrastructure will boost the country's economy and there will be lots of new construction permits granted to developers.

It should not be forgotten that the Corridor's works have already begun in the region between Tarragona and Castellón and they are advancing at a good pace because it is anticipated that the deadline will not be extended beyond 2019. What's more, Mr. de la Serna has also kept in mind the commitment that exists on finalising the works between Valencia and Alicante in the third quarter of 2019. In this way, only once the works between Almería and Murcia start will the project's completion date for Alicante and Murcia sections be known. But the commitment goes even further, since work has already began on transforming the international network links in different sections between Almería and Granada, and between the capital of Granada and Antequera.

Anyone who doubts the importance of a project with such characteristics and its remarkable repercussion for the economy of the Mediterranean region needs to take an investment training course. At Engel & Völkers, we are absolutely sure that this Mediterranean Corridor will be an important economic and social force for the area, which will as a result help boost the country's economy. Therefore, investment opportunities will multiply in the real estate sector. Fortunately, E & V has all sorts of licenses available to companies and franchises that wish to take advantage and invest in this area before prices soar exorbitantly.
