Engel & Völkers Valencia triples sales during the first half of the year

• The Valencia MMC statement showed a profit of 1.48 million euros in the first half of the year, exceeding the figure that was reached in 2015 

• The German real estate completed 80 sales transactions between January and June and even more in rental transactions, (up to 125) 

Valencia, x July 2016. Engel & Völkers, the leading German real estate brokerage is in high standing in the world, maintaining a pace of continuous growth in Spain. Only in Valencia, in the first six months of the year, Metropolitan Market Centre (MMC) amounted to 1.48 million euros and reached the volume of the entire 2015.

At the end of 2014, the company chose the city of Turia to open its third MMC in Spain. By that time, it had already established itself in Valencia forming a team of 106 real estate consultants and a staff of 17 people with 1,500 properties in its portfolio. This increase in staff and product offering has enabled 80 real estate completions and 125 rental completions in the first half of this year. This is compared to 30 sales and 22 rentals that were made in the same period of 2015. 

The largest number of transactions were concentrated in the two districts facing each other and separated by Turia River; Pla del Real and Eixample. While in the summer, there has been a notable increase in beachfront property sales and rentals in Patacona and Malvarrosa. So although Eixample has attracted 24% of all the transactions performed so far this year, residential areas have also grown by 12%.

Rentals rise sharply

The difficulty to buy a home has become a real boost to the holiday rentals in Spain. Proof of this factor lies in the strong growth recorded by Engel & Völkers in Valencia during the first half of the year, where rental transactions have increased fivefold.

However, 60% of customers seeking real estate for rent in the city are international. The profile consists of foreigners with high purchasing power or directors of large companies that require apartments with terrace or penthouses in the city centre. Villas in residential areas are also in demand on developments such as Campolivar, Santa Bárbara, El Bosque, and Torre En Coni. These areas have a high level of security and amenities.

To celebrate these achievements this year, Engel & Völkers Valencia held the first meeting of MMC in the unique City of Arts and Sciences, where Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia attracted over a hundred employees from the company.
