September events in Valencia

The end of the holidays does not mean the end of leisurely fun. As far as artistic and cultural events are concerned, Valencia boasts many within its territory. The following three events can be enjoyed during autumn:

The Artistic Russafa Escènica 2017 Competition

The 6th edition of Rusaffa Escènica 2016 surprised us with a combination of performing arts programmes where the public actively participated with a pre-written script. This year as part of the 7th edition, the company will continue coming up with new ideas by offering the Camins / Caminos programme, with three premieres from September 14th to 24th. These are called Gardening, Forests and Greenhouses. Three stage experiments that follow the philosophy of half theatrical work half workshop consist of teachers and participants bringing to the table more than 30 texts to work in different groups and in different venues.

Although the combination of artistic disciplines varies, the main works of art will consist of puppets, dancers, circus acts, various performances and textual theatre.

September concert in Marqués de Dos Aguas Palace

For those who prefer listening to classical music, on September 25th, with the organisation of the National Museum of Ceramics and the Association and Choir of Dos Aguas Palace, there will be a concert held completely free at 1 pm. The resident orchestra of Dos Aguas Palace will review the most famous pieces in the history of classical music. This concert will be perfect to enjoy on a Monday afternoon in a classic building that's very suitable for this type of event.

Contemporary art from the Fundación Bancaja collection

Since May 9th, 2017, Valencians and visitors have been able to enjoy the new collection of contemporary art from the Fundación Bancaja. This collection is composed of fifty different art works created between 1984 and 2010 by 14 international artists such as Juan Uslé, Sean Scully, and Soledad Sevilla. This collection of such varied artistic offer is shown for the first time in Spain and has received very positive feedback from the public. Entry is free, but the reservation must be done through email. Attendees - no more than 25 per session - can enjoy a full guided tour at the Bancaja Cultural Centre from Monday to Sunday until September 29th.

As you can see, it will be impossible to get bored in Valencia this September.
