Short breaks near Valencia

Valencia is a city that can be enjoyed all year round. It offers multiple activities in the city and surroundings, with sites of historical interest, natural beauties and unique landscapes. Here are the alternatives below.

  • Port Saplaya, the "little Venice": this urbanisation will more than transport us to the traditional city of Venice. Its many colourful houses and its network of canals make it very picturesque and attractive to visit. Its remoteness from all the hustle and bustle makes it ideal for a quick getaway. Planned in the 70s, it generates an added attraction for those looking for something different to do and get really incredible postcards.

  • Albufera Natural Park: known as Nacarum Stagnum for the Romans or "Mirror of sun" in different Arabic poems, this natural site of more than 20 hectares is one of the most pure and attractive in the world. The ecological interest sustained in the richness of its waters, with an incomparable marine fauna, arouses the interest of visitors who love nature. Albufera is more than just about its natural park as it constitutes a true aquatic spectacle and landscape. Contemplating the reddish tones of sunset on a boat trip is, without a doubt, one of the most attractive options to visit the region.
  • Xátiva Castle: another must-see visit to the city is this imposing castle. It is a double fortress that is situated in the Vernisa mountain range, in the vicinity of the city of Xátiva, Valencia. It is double since it has a "Minor Castle" and a "Major Castle", which are linked together. Both the Romans and the Arabs participated in its architecture, taking into account the benefits of the slope and the high points of the mountain range, in addition to building a great wall around it. Lovers of history will find here a place of great importance for all the different generations of human beings.

  • "Les Covetes dels Moros": this place is called Covetes dels Moros and is constituted by a series of caves that are placed on a cliff of rock. Its nearest town is Bocairente, a medieval town that is also worth visiting. If you have good footwear, you can explore the inside of the caves and observe how the different rock formations come together and are integrated within the caves. This is by far the most adventurous highlight of one of the most beautiful attractions in the region.
