Top Asian restaurants you should know about in Valencia

Just like other cities in Spain, Valencia has a varied gastronomic offer that's continously evolving. This adaptation to new cuisines including Asian foods has taken off with a series of restaurants in the city. Let us review the most important ones here.

Nozomi Sushi Bar

This restaurant is run by Nuria and José Miguel, two Valencians who are lovers of Japanese food with 15 years of experience in the kitchen. Since 2007, they have been running Nozomi Sushi Bar in the city. The authentic food and a service based on respect and silence at the table are a way to honour Japanese gastronomy.

Guests can enjoy their Omakese menu that consists of salads, nigiri, maki, uramaki and other typical dishes from the Japanese cuisine as well as dessert.


This Japanese tavern is the only one with Japanese tap beer, better known as Kirin. Unlike other restaurants, this tavern is more like a pub. Food can be eaten at the bar and the place has the most authentic Japanese cuisine dishes including: aguedashi tofu, karaage or the famous yakisoba. The menu is divided into appetisers, main courses and desserts, and at very affordable prices.

Fusion can also be found in the kitchen world. In fact, this is the new evolution of Asian cuisine. An example of this is the Komori Restaurant, located in Westin Valencia Hotel. It combines Japanese ingredients with Mediterranean cuisine.

Among its main dishes and salads, you can enjoy the Bonito in Tataki, or what is known as: fish on vegetables al dente. In main courses, another delicatessen is called Usuzukuri al Adobo, or white fish with adobo gaditano.


The last Asian restaurant that you might find of interest is the Hikari Yakitori Bar, owned by the same entrepreneurs who launched Nozomi Sushi Bar in 2007. This project, launched in 2015, focuses on the typical "bar street" of Japan, maintaining the same philosophy as Nozomi, but adding some more dishes thanks to the experienced chef, Clara Vidal. These dishes are "pinchos", where they emphasise the chicken and fish skewers on the grill. To this offer, they add a variety of sakes and other typical Japanese drinks to be able to enjoy a very Asian tapas.

For fans of Japanese cuisine, the streets of Valencia have become the Asian gastronomic centre of Spain.
