Valencia's gardens and parks

With the spring's arrival, gardens and parks are the ideal places to enjoy spending time in. The whole family can take part in outdoor activities as the little ones can play on the slides or the swings while the adults can enjoy the beautiful scenery, have a coffee on an outdoor terrace, etc.

Bask in the sun

It has been proven that sunlight is one of the main sources of energy for humans. However, it is important that we do not abuse it by getting too much exposure. Excessive sunbathing can be just as unhealthy.

Some studies have shown that moderate sun exposure can lower blood pressure and improve our mood. It can even be a good measure of prevention and protection against some diseases. In addition, the arrival of spring and good weather encourages us to make plans with friends or family to go on weekend breaks or short trips.

Turia Gardens

The Turia Gardens form an urban natural park that has been considered among the most extensive in Spain. They are nine kilometres long and pass through Valencia's attractive leisure facilities, sports centres, and all those romantic corners that are not to be missed.

Its 18 bridges have witnessed different historical stages. Built on the river Turia, this park was designed with a reproduction of ancient river landscapes and creating an attractive route. It borders with the Turia Gardens, the Bioparc and the City of Arts and Sciences.

Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden of Valencia is also among the most beautiful parks in the Spanish geography. Its extensive botanical catalogue offers more than three thousand different species of plants and trees, which originate from five continents.

The origin of the Botanical Garden is said to be from the sixteenth century, in an orchard where botany was taught. Special mention must be made of its tropical trees, palm, cactus, etc.

Real-Jardines de Viveros Gardens

Originally established by the Arabs, these parks have gone through different stages throughout history, including their destruction in the early nineteenth century. It was at the beginning of the 20th century when they began their transformation towards what they are today.

These parks were named Jardines de Viveros due to the fact that they are within Huerta de Vivel's proximity. There are numerous trees to be found in Real-Jardines de Viveros.

The Jardines del Real is an authentic natural jewel in the Valencian community because of its monuments, botanical variety, landscape and cultural beauty.
