Where else besides in Las Fallas festival can you eat buñuelos in Valencia?

Buñuelos are typical Valencian sweets that are most favoured by visitors who come to the city during Las Fallas festival. At this festival, the capital of Turia has dozens, if not hundreds, of food stalls where you can enjoy this delicacy. However, these misshaped doughnuts are not just sold during the Falles week. Valencia has a long series of cafes and shops that serve this sweet 365 days a year.

The first stop is a traditional establishment in Valencia called a horchatería. We are specifically talking about the Horchatería-Chocolatería Santa Catalina, located in the centre of homónima plaza (at the intersection between La Paz and San Vicente Streets). In the menu of this cafe you can find two types of Buñuelos or disfigured doughnuts; pumpkin and fruit, which tend to be served with a good serving of freshly made chocolate. This is a succulent experience recommended for evenings, especially when it's cold outside.

We won't leave this area because on the other side of the square, in Plaza de la Reina, a well known shop is located in the city. Chocolatería Valor offers exclusive Valencian brand products and award-winning buñuelos in their menu. The most interesting thing here is not so much the quality of the sweet itself, which is obviously excellent, but the possibilities of combining it with a long list of chocolates. The purest flavours with no preservatives like chocolate orange are added to these donuts.

Returning to San Vicente Street, almost at the top of Joaquin Sorolla Station, we come across Bar Riera. At an initial visit to this place, you may begin doubting the quality of its sweets due to the outdated building it is located in. But appearances can be deceiving. In this case, the most common type of products are the half a dozen or dozen buñuelos that are serviced in paper bags. In fact, these bags are the most popular customer requests at this shop.

Now we change the area and head towards Avenida de Blasco Ibáñez. Here we will show you the most classic establishment that's situated a little away from the city centre. The Horchatería Dolz sells different types of doughnuts that dominate its menu but the ingredients are also found in your kitchen. Horchatería Dolz was originally a fashion store and has enjoyed serving sweets to locals for nearly forty years. Finally, another of the most important place to visit is Fabían. There are the best bueñuelos of Valencia and in winter is very popular and crowded.

We would like to clarify that you can not find buñuelos during all the year. The horchaterías during the summer have horchata and fartons and in winter have buñuelos.
