The Fair of Santa Lucia has an ancient tradition dating back to the 16th century. It is part of the historical memory of Bologna and it has been an important reference for many generations of families preparing Christmas feast.
In Bologna, every year from mid-November the arcades along the Church of Santa Maria dei Servi are animated by the Antica Fiera di Santa Lucia (Ancient Fair of Saint Lucia). It is one of the main fairs of the Emilia Romagna region that traditionally opens the Christmastime and holiday shopping: in a genuine and authentic atmosphere, you'll be surrounded by the scent of nougat and crunchy, fascinated by the decorations for the Christmas tree and delighted by the candid expression of the figurines for the crib and for the nativity scene. In 2013, the Fair of Saint Lucia has been renovated with modern stands which allowed exhibitors to show the best of his production.
