Why Italy?
Italy has long been considered the typical country of nostalgia for the Germans, the Dutch, the Belgians, the French and so on. In this article we explain why the boot shaped country is a favorite in Europe and always worth a trip. In particular, among the treasures of this country we cannot fail to mention the Marche Region, a wonderful land in which we live.
Here are five of the many reasons why your second home should be in Italy!
1. the climate
Since Italy has both mountains and distinct coastal regions, the climate is also correspondingly varied and you can spend both a beautiful winter, but of course especially great summer days here. The Mediterranean climate is considered particularly healthy, also thanks to the salty sea air. Temperatures vary a bit between north and south, of course, but on average it rarely gets colder than 4-5 degrees, even in winter. In the Adriatic coastal areas, winter is mild and pleasant.
2. the sea
You will find many exciting stretches of coast with rocks and forests, but also beautiful and long beaches of light sand. How not to mention our Monte Conero where crystal clear waters flank wonderful rocks and rocks. In general, all Italian beaches have one thing in common: crystal clear water, bright blue sky and the good life - a dream for any beach lover! In addition, many stretches of the coast invite you to take long walks and sunbathe. What are you waiting for?
3. the culture
Italian culture is about 2500 years old and many important names in world history, such as Michelangelo or Leonardo da Vinci, come from the land of desire. You can walk in the footsteps of the Romans, visit many wonderful museums and admire the many art monuments that Italy has to offer.
4. cities and landscapes
In our Marche region we find the incredible charm of Ascoli Piceno derives from its architectural style. The travertine blocks extracted from the nearby Piceno quarries were used to build palaces and monuments. This gives the city a unique harmony. A walk through the streets of Ascoli Piceno tells a story of elegance and refinement.
San Benedetto del Tronto is the southernmost coastal town in the Marche region. It is a city ready to surprise you with its beauty, its habitability and the beauty of its beaches. From the ancient settlement, originally dating back to Roman times, the modern urban agglomeration has developed, full of attractions and entertainment.
Among the 10 places of interest in the Marche region, we would like to mention Fermo because here, perhaps more than in any other city in the region, different historical periods, traditions and cultures handed down from distant ancestors blend harmoniously. The origins of Fermo are lost in history, even at the beginning of the Etruscan civilization. In fact, remains of the Villanova civilization have been found, with grave goods dating back to at least the 9th century BC.
The Marches are the birthplace and the source of inspiration of one of the greatest poets of Italian literature: Giacomo Leopardi. Visiting Recanati is like seeing his poems come to life, a sensation that can hardly be described without living it. The place of fundamental importance is undoubtedly his birthplace, still inhabited by his descendants. The large library, edited by both the young Giacomo and his father, Monaldo Leopardi, contains over 20,000 volumes, including some exclusive manuscripts of inestimable value.
Describing in a few lines everything there is to admire in Ancona would be an understatement. The beauty of the city ranges from historical and architectural remains to artistic and cultural achievements. Ancona will also be remembered for its excellent cuisine, which combines fresh fish dishes with country specialties. While strolling through the city, be sure to stop at Piazza del Plebiscito, the center of Ancona's social life, with its buildings, restaurants and clubs open until late at night.
5. the food
Italians are more than famous for their good food and also for their hospitality. If your day usually starts with a light breakfast, for lunch you can enjoy pasta with side dishes such as meat, fish or seafood and in the evening you can get comfortable with a 3-course meal. Of course, there is one thing that cannot be forgotten: the wonderful, wide selection of appetizers! And gelato, or Italian gelato, is still a must during your stay in Italy. Enjoy your meal!
