Italian Homes in Rovato

Only 11kms south of the magnificent Lake Iseo, the enchanting town of Rovato stands surrounded by the idyllic Franciacorta hills. This picturesque municipality is conveniently located along key railway lines and is serviced by major motorways. The A35 motorway reaches the large town of Treviglio in less than 30 minutes. The A4 puts the cities of Bergamo and Brescia only 27 and 20 minutes away respectively, while Milan and Verona are both under an hour’s drive away.

With almost 20 thousand residents, Rovato has no shortage of modern amenities. Two railway stations offer connections to major cities such as Milan, Verona, Venice, Bergamo, and Brescia, as well as to the medieval towns and villages that border the spectacular Lake Iseo.

Throughout Rovato small businesses sell everything from home appliances to carpets, cars, clothes, and of course wine – for which the region is famous. Services offered include junior and senior schools, banks, salons, bakeries, pharmacies, a hospital, and clinics. Fitness centres and sporting complexes are also available, while the Acquarè Piscina di Rovato water park nearby provides families with recreational fun.

The streets and pavement of Rovato are an exceptional blend of timeless cobblestones and stone tiles. Boulevards are lush with attractive greenery while elegant balconies with overhanging blooms lookout over the town. Lovely homes and apartments, adorned with delightful wooden window shutters and warm inviting colours are built around Rovato’s charming streets. Stunning arches frequently open into large open spaces that resemble courtyards, and are bordered by shops, homes, and businesses.

A short distance from the heart of town residential neighbourhoods offer space and comfort with larger homes and fenced yards. Reminiscent of old traditional villas but built with a more contemporary Italian style, many of these properties have large terraces, manicured gardens and smooth paved roads that make the short drive to the town centre a relaxing experience. A little further afield traditional country houses in the surrounding serene countryside offer space, tranquillity, and convenience for even the largest of families.

Modern conveniences and daily necessities are easily found along the town’s historic streets. Old-world architecture, and peace and quiet characterize the residential areas. This fine balance between tranquil neighbourhoods and the accessibility of robust commercial districts embodies Rovato, and makes it as such a prime location for people from all walks of life.

  • Rovato is well serviced by convenient and cost-effective railway lines that connect major cities. Brescia is only 14 minutes away by train, Milan and Verona are both under 1 hour, Treviglio takes 31 minutes, while Venice is possible in 2hours and 15 minutes.

  • Located in the territory of Franciacorta, famous for its vineyards, the sparkling wine from this region is of especially high quality, earning itself the DOCG the highest classification of authenticity from the Italian government.

  • The nearby Monte Orfano rises 452 m above sea level and stretches for 5 km to the Northwest of Rovato, offering wonderful views over the countryside from its relaxing trails. Atop its summit the impressive 15th century Chiesa Santissima Annunciata church and convent are full of masterful frescoes and paintings.

  • Rovato has a number of historic churches, notably the 8th century Santuario di Santo Stefano and the 16th century Chiesa Parrocchiale di Santa Maria Assunta. The latter’s striking stone bell tower, mesmerizing interior and intricate arches, as well as both church’s exquisite murals and artwork have all survived the passage of time.

  • The Villa Cantù Park offers a commanding view of the town and its red terracotta roof tiles, as well as the serene cobblestone pathways around the old villa.

  • The lakeside town of Iseo is only a 19-minute drive away. Aside from offering breathtaking views of the majestic lake, regular ferries explore the lake’s many culturally rich medieval towns.

  • Cinema Under the Stars is an outdoor movie event that takes place during summer in the Piazza Cavour (Cavour square). Sports and other cultural activities are a regular feature in Rovato’s social landscape, as are concerts that are held throughout the year.
