The famous architect and designer Daniel Libeskind has donated to the city and the Municipality of Como "The Electric Life" monument in honor of Alessandro Volta.
It has been installed on the circular end of the breakwater and is 14.25 meters high, weighs 29 tons and is made entirely of steel so that it reflects the image ofthe city of Como and its natural setting.
"The Life Electric" is inspired by "the electric voltage between the two poles of a battery, the great gift of Volta to humanity", as Libeskind himself explained.
The light, water and energy transforms the simple visual perception into emotion: the play of light, thanks to the LED lighting system with equipment operating underwater and the special effects created by a water mist system with over 300 output points.
