The traditional Torta dei Fieschi Festival will take place in Lavagna this Wednesday, August 14th.
According to the legend, Count Opizzo Fiesco returned from war and decided to marry the noblewoman Bianca dei Bianchi, the marriage was so magnificent to include a gigantic wedding cake offered to the population.
This is one of the most ancient and evocative historical festivals in Italy, this year at its 70th edition. The party will begin with the procession that will cross the city untill the Fieschi Tower.
Even today, after reading the proclamation of the wedding, the Countess "cuts" the cake, starting the game in which participants have to find their soul mate and the celebrations in honor of the spouses.
