What you should know about this villa

Amenities and special features of this villa

This splendid seafront residence is located at the corner of Via Gorizia and Via Marina, in first row on the sea of Stromboli. The area is that of Scari, the beating heart of the island, full of small shops, grocery stores, and several bars and restaurants. The villa is just a few metres from the San Vincenzo pier and stands in front of the island's splendid seafront promenade made of black volcanic sand. Standing out on the horizon is the world-famous Strombolicchio, the oldest volcanic cone on the Stromboli, now exhausted, which is only a few hundred metres from the mainland, while on the upstream side stands 'Iddu', the Stromboli.
The architectural style is typical of the Aeolian islands, made up of cubic, linear shapes, low profiles, and colours that blend harmoniously with the landscape, such as the white of the external plaster and the bright shades of the house tiles.
The villa is arranged on one level: the entrance opens onto a lush terraced garden, a unique natural environment composed of cacti, prickly pears, bougainvilleas, olive trees, fruit trees and wild flowers. Paths and stairs lead up to the panoramic terrace, definitely the highlight of the property, which has two equipped areas covered by a pergola, the so-called 'bagghiu', in perfect Aeolian style, with a stone wash basin, a kitchen and a barbeque area, and an open area to enjoy the warm Sicilian sun.
Inside we have a large living area with a beautiful fireplace and a connected eat-in kitchen. On the living area open the two hallways leading to the three bedrooms, which can accommodate up to six people. There are two bathrooms serving the bedrooms, both spacious and equipped with showers. The layout of the rooms, the size, the subdivision of the spaces and the two cisterns ensure that the villa can easily be used for accommodation purposes. The villa is in excellent condition and is ready to be lived in immediately.

Aeolian Islands: Location and surroundings of this property

Stromboli is the most northerly of the Aeolian Islands, close to the Sicilian Tyrrhenian coast. It is just over an hour's boat ride from Milazzo, two hours from Messina, the provincial capital, and is also well connected to the ports of Naples, Tropea, Reggio Calabria, Palermo and Capo d'Orlando, from which ferries and hydrofoils depart throughout the year. A further possibility of access to the island is offered by the landing strip for helicopters, which is located at Ficogrande, on the seafront. The island covers little more than 12 square kilometers and is home to the only European volcano in permanent eruptive activity, Stromboli, also known as "Iddu", which for its incredible and suggestive paroxysms along the so-called Sciara del Fuoco, earned the island the nickname of "Lighthouse of the Tyrrhenian Sea". Stromboli has a population of little more than 400 inhabitants, the main inhabited villages are San Vincenzo with the landing place of Scari, and the areas of Piscità and Ficogrande and, to the south-west, reachable only by sea, Ginostra, populated by about 30-40 inhabitants.
Just one and a half kilometres from Stromboli stands the Scoglio dello Strombolicchio, Stromboli's oldest volcanic cone, now exhausted, which is only a few hundred metres from the mainland and is home to a solar-powered lighthouse, behind which the sun rises every morning. The location is Scari, just below the village of San Vincenzo, with a unique view of Strombolicchio. It is a large beach of sand and volcanic rocks, divided in two by the island's landing pier. The proximity to the pier means that the house can also be reached on foot, without the need to use local transport. The northern area is the one designated for bathers. It is a coastline that stretches for about one kilometre and, thanks to its favourable location, offers its visitors crystal-clear water at all times. Nearby there is also a lido with a restaurant on the beach.
