“Eyes wide open” is a widespread exhibition that takes place in the streets of Siena and celebrates the great world photography on billboards. It is the first major open-air exhibition, promoted by Simply Etruria Retail, that contaminates advertising space with the photographic art of the IV edition of the Siena International Photo Awards Festival.
From October 29th until November 11th, Siena hosts a remarkable exhibition featuring 22 large photographs chosen among the 48 thousand images that participated in the 2018 edition of international photography competition. The exhibition exploits the advertising spaces that Simply Etruria Retail normally reserves for its advertising, to show the world of photography through the eyes and sensitivity of photographers from 156 countries around the world.
For the first time the exhibition itinerary, scattered from the centre to the outskirts of the city, collects the shots of professional photographers and amateurs divided into the 10 thematic categories: free colour; free monochrome; travel & adventures; people and captivating faces; the beauty of nature; animals in their natural environment; architecture and urban spaces; sport in action; portfolio storytelling and colour sketches. The exhibition brings up important issues such as forgotten conflicts or the great battles dedicated to the protection of nature.
Simply Etruria Retail accompanies with SIPA for the fourth consecutive year because they still believe in the value of a project that combines art with the promotion of the territory. The main message which they want to share is how through the promotion of culture and territory, we can become protagonists in promoting the well-being of the community. In fact, culture is a crucial component of well-being and an integral factor in the quality of life, as well as an important driver of economic development for our communities.
