Ferdinando and Angela Trematore, main characters of the musical experience in Kuwait, are two musicians part of the Chigiana Academy. The two artists performed inside the theatre Yarmouk Cultural Centre thanks to their attendance in the international project “young Italian music talents in the world 2020”: it concerns a project with the purpose of promoting the major Italian talents within music.
The Music Academy of Siena was born in 1932 when a group of musicians decided to be part of it and to follow the courses kept by masters. Gradually the number of students grew until the Academy gained a huge success, seeing grow real music artists at its core.
The two musicians, who formed the “Duo Federiciano”, performed on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of February 2020in front of an incredulous public. Among those present we mention Carlo Baldocci, Italian ambassador in Kuwait and the polish ambassador. The presented musical performance started with “I Tre Canti” by Ildebrando Pizzetti” continuing with the “Sonata in si minore” by Respinghi and the “Sonata op.78 n.1 per violino e pianoforte” by Brahms, very suitable pieces to promote the Italian chamber music tradition.
It was not the first experience of the Academy in the country of the Arabic Gulf. In December 2019 the soprano Anna Roberta Sorbo and the baritone Carmine Giordano, supported on the piano by Francesco de Poli, were protagonists of two triumphal concerts in the JACC Cultural Centre in Kuwait City.
The presence of the Academy in the Middle Easter area is always more evident. The hope is that this will continue to happen in the future because, as the Administrative Director Angelo Armiento said: “ the further internationalisation of the Academy activities fall within the main points of the strategical guidelines defined by our Administration Council”.
