Last week the mayor of Siena Luigi De Mossi launched an interesting and suggestive proposal during a press conference: a "slow" fashion show of Armani in Siena. The famous designer in the previous days had released some interviews in which he spoke of the need for a slowdown in the world of fashion, the pace of which would become "too rapid, at times unsustainable". According to Armani, it is better to slow down and "focus on smaller collections and more intimate shows".
The challenge launched by the mayor De Mossi to the great designer would therefore be to create a "slow" fashion show in Siena that should combine the elegance of fashion with the art and beauty of our city, against any frenzy. Siena is in fact a city that has long been aiming for slower tourism, offering clean air, quality of life, food, scenic and artistic beauties. According to the mayor, Siena would lend itself much to the concept of a slower and more humane fashion world, expressed by Armani in the recent interviews, moreover the city's Gothic cut could well integrate with his style.
The designer seems to have appreciated the proposal of Luigi De Mossi and has written a letter to the municipal administration that states: "Siena is a special city, rich in art and beauty, like all its territory. Rediscovering them with the necessary time would be a gift for everyone. Responding now to the invitation is certainly premature, when the situation allows it, this possibility will certainly be taken into consideration ".
