This Thursday, February 27th, the real estate agency Engel & Völkers Luxembourg hosted its first event of the series “Expert Talk” in their new Market Center in Merl. The expert speakers Mrs Diane Lefebvre, Conseiller en Ingénierie Patrimoine Senior at BGL BNP Paribas Banque Privée Luxembourg, and Maître Edouard Delosch presented the attendees useful information about the topic of inheritance.
“We are very happy about the outcome of our first Expert Talk”, says Matthias May, Managing Director at Engel & Völkers Luxembourg. “Inheriting and bequesting real estate property is a topic we are dealing with on a daily basis, and since we saw so many people show up to this event shows how important this topic is to our clients.”
Mrs Diane Lefebvre, representing the BGL BNP Paribas Banque Privée Luxembourg, enlightened the guests about the succession from a tax point of view in Luxembourg as well as the tax repercussions that exist between legatees and heirs residing in European countries, and particularly France, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Spain.
Maître Edouard Delosch informed the attendees about the succession from a civil point of view, i.e. marriage contract, community and separation of property as well as the different implications in inheritance law.
“The aim of our Expert Talks is to organise an informal, but informative round table that allows our clients to receive the best information about the most varied topics”, explains Nico Toisul, team leader at Engel & Völkers Luxembourg. “We are pleased that the presentations, by the excellent speakers Mrs Lefebvre and Mr Delosch, led to an animated and dynamic Q&A session.”
40 people attended this first Expert Talk. Engel & Völkers Luxembourg will be organising further Expert Talks during the year, covering other topics that are of interest to property owners or buyers in the Grand Duchy.
