The gardens feature remarkable attractions such as giant Victoria Amazonica water lilies, diverse palm species, captivating birdlife, and a population of adorable deer and fascinating giant tortoises.
Established in 1735 and named after Mauritius' first prime minister, the gardens have a rich history of development by various horticulturalists, notably Pierre Poivre and James Duncan. They serve as a testament to botanical diversity and historical significance in Mauritius.
