9am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Mauritius is one of the countries with the highest number of public holidays in the world; there is clearly a lot to celebrate!
Over time, the island has adopted many traditions from the great melting pot of cultures and all faiths and all religions get their opportunity to celebrate what means most to them throughout the year. In January alone, there are four public holidays; two days to ring in the New Year as well as the Tamil Hindu faith’s Thaipusam Cavadee festival and the Abolition of Slavery. The best part is, everyone is welcome to join in!
Throughout the year, you can expect to rejoice in Chinese New Year, Diwali, Eid and Christmas to name just a few. Grand public celebrations, private parties and days of work allow the people of Mauritius to honour their beliefs along with their loved ones. Mauritius’ rich history and diverse population are to thank for the warm & uplifting culture you are instantly immersed in when your feet hit the tarmac.
So wherever you may be from, we can’t wait to welcome you to our beautiful island of celebration!
