Portugal, the 3rd safest country in the world

According to the "Global Peace Index" Portugal is the 3rd safest country in the world, being the first position occupied by Iceland followed by New Zealand. Among the European countries Portugal is second only behind Iceland.

Among the various indicators that contribute to the ranking of the "Global Peace Index" we stand out only a few as ; internal and external conflicts, criminaltity, relations with neighboring countries,  political stability, access to arms, among others.

Along side Kosovo and Norway, Portugal is one of the countries where the perception of the acceptance of immigrants has grown more over the years.
