Meet the Team Leader of Melides Lounge

We started 2021 with a reinforced team in our Melides office with the appointment of a new team leader who took over the management of the office and a team of dedicated real estate consultants to support our clients and partners.


Luís Gonçalves, with a degree in Information Systems and professional experience in Media and Technology, has been working in the real estate market for many years and accepted the challenge to join our team and lead the local office, located in the center of the village, just in front of the famous and peculiar restaurant "O Melidense".

How did your journey at Engel & Völkers begin?

A: It started with a pleasant and unexpected conversation with my current Manager & Broker Vitor Paiva, conversation which stayed in my mind for some time... at our second meeting it was a matter of defining our strategies and celebrating our union since I already had a strong feeling that this was "the project".

What was the key to your success in your professional past?

A: It was just adopting simplicity, because if we keep things simple, they will flow without friction, cultivate patience so that stress is non-existent and cultivate compassion for myself and everyone else.

How would you describe the regions that your team will manage?

A: These are places of unique natural beauty, that is why they have all this demand and appreciation… the region's growth is exponential and private investments of the international Big Players are an extra push, but we intend to manage everything with great attention and sensitivity.

What is your analysis of the sales market in the area you are going to manage?

A: I could not be happier! It is a positive and motivating analysis, although it is not an easy market to penetrate, we have been growing in line with the growth of the market, distancing ourselves from other agencies and increasing the prestige of the brand consolidating our position in the market.

What is your value proposition for this new challenge?

A: Firstly, I will aim to build a team where the retention rate of human resources is very high, then we will be farming intensely "on-site" on a basis daily, in order to bring to the market properties that do not exist in the competition, at the same time we will set has a priority to list the properties in exclusive system, with the aim of reaching a 36% share of active listings in the next 12 months and to pass an average of 60% of exclusive listings as the "main target", last but not least we will raise bar with the buyer's with a set of practices and tools that I will not to reveal for now.
