Pueblo Edén

Just 40 kilometers north of Punta del Este, in Maldonado, is located Pueblo Edén. It's the perfect town to disconnect from the whirlwind of the city and breathe some fresh air while connecting with nature. On August 8, 1917, Román Furtado divided part of his territory to found the Villa de Mataojo de San Carlos, which today we know as Pueblo Edén. Furtado had a large area of ​​land on the banks of the Pintado stream and by dividing the field, it gave rise to the place we know today. 

The laid-back lifestyle of the place invites visitors to drive slowly. Only about 50 permanent residents live there during the year and no more than 250 people live in the surroundings. The school, the Church and the police station are located on the same block in front of the typical and well-kept square. In addition to the cleanliness and peace that characterize it, Pueblo Edén arouses the interest of hundreds of tourists in search of the charming local gastronomy and the quiet rural surroundings, a few kilometers from the city.
