Tordera is a municipality belonging to the province of Barcelona. It is located north of Maresme, although it is true that it is located bordering with La Selva, region of the province of Girona, situation which leaves this town about 35 km from Girona and about 66 km from the Ciudad Condal, Barcelona. It is the largest municipality in area of the region (more even larger than the capital itself, Mataró) and is made up of a historic center that originates right next to its river, the Tordera River, which It flows into the Mediterranean Sea, between Malgrat de Mar and Blanes.
