Half of its resident population and more than two thirds of its annual visitors are foreigners. The property is located 2.5km from beautiful beaches which, except in August, are not very crowded. Apart from sunbathing and swimming, there is a wide choice of water sports and activities such as sailing, diving, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, among others. Later Stone and Bronze Age people, Romans, Greeks, Phoenicians, Visigoths, Germans, Carthaginians and Arabs inhabited the area. Roman fishing boats used the port, and there is evidence dating the Roman occupation of Jávea to the 2nd century B.C., which, with the arrival of the Romans in the area in the 2nd century B.C., is a clear evidence of the Roman occupation of Jávea.
