Llagostera: Location and surroundings of this property

Llagostera, located at the southern end of the Gironès region, is a municipality with more than 8,000 inhabitants, located 20 km from Girona and just 15 minutes from the best beaches on the Costa Brava, which is why it is known as the gateway to entrance to the Costa Brava. This town borders Santa Cristina de Aro, Caldes de Malavella, Tossa de Mar and Cassà de la Selva. Towards the east, Llagostera is integrated into the forested area of the Gavarres massif (PEIN), while to the north and northwest a crop plain extends. In the extreme south, a large part of the municipal area is located in the Ardenya massif, a natural area of great ecological and landscape interest. The history of Llagostera dates back to the Paleolithic, with evidence of settlements in the area. During the medieval period, Llagostera, then composed only of the old town surrounded by walls, became a barony in 1375. Beginning in the 18th century, the prolific cork industry fueled its economic growth, transforming Llagostera into the municipality of more than 8,000 inhabitants it is today.
