It stands as one of the wealthiest communities for its agricultural production, forming part of the denomination of origin of Binissalem. La Viña is the most important feature of the municipality - it has an old winery called "Can Ribas" which is located within the village and which is open to visitors. There are several important country estates in this municipality such as Es Rafal, Can Ribas, Son Coco, Son Puntiró and Sa Cabana, now converted into magnificent rural hotels. The village is very well connected by train and close to Palma - Alcudia highway. The heart of Consell provides restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and other shops. This municipality is also renown for its antique market "El Rastro", which is held every Sunday just outside the village in the industrial park and has a large influx of visitors. It is set about 20 minutes away from the airport, the centre of Palma and the beaches.
