Pals: Location and surroundings of this property

Pals is a beautiful medieval village located in the Baix Empordà region, in the province of Girona. The village is located about 5 km from the Costa Brava, and is known for its beautiful medieval architecture and panoramic views of the area. The medieval ensemble of Pals has been awarded the National Prize for Fine Arts and Tourism and the Medal of Honour for Tourism in Catalonia. Its old quarter, popularly known as "El Pedró", is a masterpiece of architectural restoration. It preserves buildings from the 15th century, such as the medieval wall and the tower of the hours. In its streets we find Gothic and Romanesque buildings. There are also different art galleries and small craft shops. Moreover, it is part of the so-called "Empordanet", a group of small and famous medieval villages such as Peratallada, Monells or Rupià. Where, apart from their antiquity and the good preservation of their streets and buildings, they also stand out for their small and excellent restaurants. In general, the whole area is renowned for its excellent gastronomy.
