Looking back over the history of Canovelles, the name of the municipality of Canovelles is documented for the first time in 1008 when Mr. Ingilbert and his wife Incuncia made an exchange with Abbot Ot de Sant Cugat of five pieces of land that they had in Canovelles for other lands that the monastery gave them; with the cession of the lands in the area of Sant Felix de Canovelles, the donors transferred to the abbot and the monastery the dominion and power that they had.
