Advantages of working as a freelancer

When it comes to considering a job, most people tend to think about the job options companies offer, no matter what stage they are in their careers. However, due to the current job market conditions, more and more people opt for freelancing. It may seem, and it is, a difficult step at first, but going self employed has many countless benefits. In this article, we are going to explain the most important ones to you.

1. Total control over your company

Whether you hold a limited partnership or simply operate as a self-employed person, you will be in a position to know, with great detail, the current state of your business. This has many advantages depending on your needs as you can focus your goals on one direction or another without having to depend on anyone.

2. You will be your own boss

One of the main cons that any job presents for people is the treatment and the pressure they have to endure when it comes to dealing with a boss. Although there are people who know how to handle this role and motivate their employees, the truth is that there are others who do not do a great job being the boss. In fact, we are sure that you've experienced this situation at one point or another. Being a freelancer means you will be your own boss.

3. Greater time flexibility

If one day, for example, you have to go to the bank in the morning to complete some paperwork, to pick up your children from school, or to attend to any other unforeseen events that may arise, you will not have to get permission from anyone. As a self-employed person, you will be the one who sets your own schedules and the one that determines how much and when you will complete your tasks. Your responsibilities will be solely and exclusively with yourself and your clients.

4. Whatever you earn will be yours

If you have ever worked for someone else, you may have thought more than once or twice about the amount of money you earn and compared it with the monthly salary of others in your company. You might have come to the conclusion that your salary wasn't fair and you deserve more money because of your great performance. This does not happen when you are self-employed since everything you earn will be yours except, of course, the relevant taxes that you have to pay to the Treasury and Social Security.
These are the main advantages of being a freelancer in Spain. So, if you are thinking of starting a business and still have any doubts, you just have to think about these advantages and realise that you have more to gain rather than lose with regards to improving the quality of your life.
