Santa Ponsa is a popular holiday resort in Mallorca, about 20 kilometres southwest of Palma. The town belongs to the municipality of Calvià and offers two main beaches: the spacious "Platja de Santa Ponça" and the smaller, quieter "Caló d'en Pellicer." The main beach is particularly family-friendly and features numerous amenities as well as a promenade with many restaurants, cafés, and shops. The surroundings are characterised by picturesque hills and pine forests, ideal for hiking and cycling. For golf enthusiasts, there are several high-quality golf courses nearby, including the renowned "Golf Santa Ponsa I." Water sports such as jet skiing, windsurfing, diving, and sailing are also very popular. Historical landmarks like the "Cruz del Descubrimiento" commemorate the landing of King Jaume I in 1229. The infrastructure is excellent, with supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, and medical facilities, as well as a wide range of accommodations from luxurious hotels to cosy holiday apartments. Palma de Mallorca Airport is only about 30 minutes away, providing quick and easy transfers.
